Sentinel Angst Archive

The Sentinel Angst Yahoo Group was a Gen only writers’ group active from 1999-2019. In order to preserve this piece of fandom history, we are importing the stories written for the group to the Archive of Our Own (AO3).

I have contacted the Organization for Transformative Works (OTW) for assistance in moving Sentinel Angst’s content to a collection on the multi-fandom archive they maintain, the Archive of Our Own (AO3). Specifically, I will be working with the Open Doors committee. You can read about their recent import projects at this link.

I want to make clear that only the stories for which I will receive explicit permission to move will be archived to the AO3. I will therefore need a confirmation email from each of you stating that you approve of the move of your works to AO3.

If you would like the works imported to your AO3 account: please let me know your AO3 pseud so that Open Doors can attach them to the correct account.

If would not mind them being preserved but do not want your name attached to them any longer: please let me know that too—we can leave your works on the archivist account instead of leaving them behind to be deleted.

If you would NOT like your works moved by Open Doors: then please send me your Sentinel Angst pseud(s) and e-mail address(es) and specify so, so that we can make sure not to add them.

If you already have an AO3 account and have posted your Sentinel Angst works there: or plan to do so later, please let me know your Sentinel Angst and AO3 pseud(s) and e-mail address(es) as well, so that we know which of the works to add to the new Sentinel Angst collection. There is a tutorial on the Open Doors website with instructions for mass-adding stories to the new collection on the AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/sentinelangst.

If you don’t already have an AO3 account but would like one to import your stories yourself: please let me know your Sentinel Angst pseud(s), and the preferred e-mail address to send the AO3 invite to. There is a tutorial on the Open Doors website with instructions for importing stories and adding them to the new collection on the AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/sentinelangst.

We’ll be collecting responses over the next 30 days before we start importing works. All works imported on a creator’s behalf will be attributed with their name in the summary of the work. As we import works, we will e-mail notifications to the address associated with the work.

If you know of any authors that no longer have access to their Sentinel Angst e-mail address, please tell them to contact me directly.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks!
